I am initially contacting yourselves about my daughter who I am pretty sure has an allergy to gluten. She suffers a little from eczema but only under her chin. I would like to find out how much it would cost to have her tested. The best location for us to visit would be kingston.

Secondly, would there be a discount if I decided to have our whole family (4) allergy tested?

    Kind regards
    Maria Soady

Allergy Test UK testers see clients with eczema a lot of the time and by cutting out the offending foods that are identified in the test we also see a huge improvement in sufferers skin, especially children.

Our tester in Kingston is Sue McNeill please call Sue on 075078 62842 to discuss and arrange an appointment. She may well offer a discount for the whole family.

I developed asthma and a skin allergy problem when I became 40. Up until then I have had no problems and was very fit. I was blasted with Piriton tablets and bathed in Oilitum and after 9 months or so my skin cleared up…. but its back, this time it is when I scratch myself (as my body, head, legs etc itch) and I come up in hives and look as if I have been whipped. I can also feel the hives in my head and they occasionally come on my face which is worrying. My Dr’s say I am not bad enough to have an allergy test. How much do they cost to stop me worrying.
    Thanks
    Jayne

I have never had an allergy test done apart from lactose intolerance. However, I had always suffered from runny nose, stomach cramps, diarrhoea, vomiting, bloating, and swelling of the throat, acne and general ill health. Until I went to see a nutritionist and I started eliminating certain food s when most symptoms that I had suffered on regular bases have disappeared. But lately, I have suffered stomach cramps and diarrhoea when I eat broccoli and spinach. Can people develop allergies to these vegetables? Please note that my GP refused to refer me to an allergy specialist or send me to have the test.

    Thanks,

    Suad

  • 9. Samantha Thompson  |  April 28th, 2009 at 3:42 pm

    Suad,
You were certainly displaying the signs of having a lactose intolerence are you still off all dairy products? It is possible that these vegetables are irritating your stomach because of some other underlying imbalance in the gut. Have you taken any probiotics?

  • 10. Suad Omer  |  April 28th, 2009 at 9:16 pm

Thanks for taking time to reply to me. I don’t take any dairy products at all. I can’t eat seafood as well because I will get stomach cramps, vomiting and bloating symptoms which are similar to that of having lactose intolerance.
Since I have been to the nutritionist, I have eliminated chocolate, wheat products, ray, corn, lentils, tomatoes, oranges, chicken, peanuts, dates, refined sugar, hummos (chickpeas and sesame) there are more but I don’t remember. I stopped taking soy products as I noticed that it aggravates my acne.
Yes, i have been taking probiotics for that last 2 months. in 2007, I took antibiotics for the acne for 7 months which I release had messed up my immune system.
Is there any test that covers all food allergies or do I need to take several once?
It is very depressing. This new diet improved the quality my life and helped me lose weight but my food choices are become limited day after day.

  • 11. Samantha Thompson  |  April 29th, 2009 at 10:13 am

    Suad
Our tests will give you instant results on over 100 foods so this will pinpoint exactly which foods you should and shouldn’t have as there may well be things that you are avoiding at the moment unnecessarily.

You are right in thinking that the anti-biotics are more than likely to be the culprit as not only will they have upset the bacterial balance in your gut but the may well also have had an effect on the efficiency of your digestive enzymes.

All this can be remedied. If you let me know where abouts in the country you are I can put you in touch with your nearest Allergy Test UK tester.

At the current time the nearest we have to you is Lisa Seymour in Nottingham or myself in Bristol. If you are prepared to travel to either please let me know and I can let you have contact details.

Also I was wondering could this test be used on animals?

  • 23. sam@allergytest.co.uk  |  June 19th, 2009 at 11:54 am

    Carolyn,
Unfortunately not. This test as far as I am aware has only ever been carried out on human beings. I guess that if acu-pressure points were known by a practitioner of the specific animal then it would not be impossibale but I’m sorry it is not our area of expertise.

  • 24. Carolyn  |  June 19th, 2009 at 12:23 pm

Also can this test be used on animals?

    Hi

my daughter developed pneumoccocal meningitis when she was 2 months old. Shortly after which she developed severe eczema behind the legs.

She has food allergies of egg, nuts – hazelnuts, walnuts, almonds, cashew nuts, pistachio.

She is now 7 and sufferes from eczema on her neck, around the inside of arms and back of her legs. What can you recommend as she is driving herself and us insane. She is constantly in tears as the itching won’t stop. Please help.

  • 27. Carole Macgregor  |  July 2nd, 2009 at 8:07 pm

    Hi there,
If you have removed the nuts, eggs etc for some time it may well be worth a re-test to check that there is not another intolerance affecting your daughter- sometimes there is another culprit hiding behind the other ones. If you also check the blog under improving infantile eczema there are some products recommended which are well worth trying.

  • 28. Harriet  |  July 30th, 2009 at 2:04 pm

Hi, my husband has we think an allergy to either wheat, gluten or milk. He had the runs for about 3 months on and off. Then in March he banged his head badly and this has made things worse. He’s had a ct scan and mri to check his head, but all have come back clear. Since then he has had periods of having a fast pulse, hot and cold flushes, slight dizzyness. To start with after accident he felt like someone had kicked him in the stumach. He has had various blood test with the doctor and they have come back clear for wheat and gluten allergies, but since cutting them out of his diet he has improved, but still has occasional attacks of illness. We have been waiting ages for an appointment to have a camera inserted. To add further stress I am due to have a baby end July/begin Sept that is going to have to have a heart op and am dessperate to try and understand his condition and help him before then. Do you have any surgestions?
    Harriet

  • 29. Carole Macgregor  |  August 6th, 2009 at 7:40 am

    Dear Harriet
I think it would be worth your husband’s while to have a complete test as it seems that changes being made to his diet are improving his condition. It could be that there are other problem foods that are causing the continuing occasional attacks. There are also products that could be recommended to re-balance his digestive system in the light of the test results.
If you ring 01934 842923 you will be put in touch with the tester closest to you.

I am curious to know if the allergy tester can detect the kind of allergens that the body is sensitive to and the kind of allergies…

  • 36. sam@allergytest.co.uk  |  January 25th, 2010 at 1:49 pm

    Pablo
Our test gives instant results on over 100 foods, and will determine the bodies inability to break these foods down. We also test for 50 environmental substances and a vitamin and mineral deficiency check.

If there is something very specific you wnat to be tested for just take a small sample of it along to your test.

I am writing for my daughter who is 20+ years old and my wife. They developed for last few months allergic symptoms like nose block, breathing trouble, shaking limbs, inside trembling, bloating, hives, itching, scratching fingertips and palms, throat infection and throat ulcers. These come from almost all foods, say, vegetables like cauliflower, potato, spinach, aubergine, tomato etc, all fruits like apple, strawberry, grapes, banana, nuts, dates, oranges, peanuts etc, all dairy products like milk, yogurts, chocolates etc, fish, soya products and many other. Besides food, perfume, shampoos, hand wash chemicals, dust etc also cause severe problem. Similar problems occur for my wife too. They don’t have any hay fever or eczema. We don’t have any pet at home. My wife and daughter can eat boiled rice, red lentils and chicken only. Our life style has become totally pathetic.
The GP sent my daughter to St. Mary’s hospital, London for allergy test. The hospital did visible Dermatographism. They did skin test for her with grasses, trees, house dust mite, moulds, cat, dog, hazelnut, walnut, almond, peanut, brazil nut, cow milk and wheat. All of them came negative. They did prick test with fresh fruits such as apples, strawberry, lemon, grapes and banana. All were negative. They diagnosed it as possible chronic idiopathic urticaria, the cause of which is impossible to find. They referred to Dermatology department. My daughter takes medicines like Nasonex nasal spray and Loratadine tablets for some relief.
The dermatology dept. did numerous blood test and found everything OK except high antibody. They prescribed Piriton tablets, but it didn’t help much.
Is there any way that you can help? I live in West London.

  • 38. Bimal  |  March 11th, 2010 at 12:51 am

Please contact Sue McNeill, who has clinics in Richmond, Chiswick, Kingston Upon Thames and Cannon Street. Her number is 07507 862482. It sounds to me like they are suffering from extreme toxicity, so they will be intolerant to many things. Sue will be able to diagnose what needs to be eliminated initially and then give you a follow up plan.

  • 40. sam@allergytest.co.uk  |  March 12th, 2010 at 11:14 am

    Jacqueline,
The method of testing that we use is call BioEnergetic Responsing. The patient is put in circuit with a unit that measures the bodies ability to resist substances. The allergens are placed in the unit one by one and readings are taken. A lowered reading indicates an allergy or intolerence. The units are registered medical testing equipment under German and European law. Your appointment would take approximately an hour and will give instant results on over 150 foods, 50 environmental substances plus a vitamin and mineral deficiency screening. Your results are then copiled into an elimination programme for your to follow for 8 weeks at which point we retest you to see if you are ready to re-introduce anything.

If you like to let us know where in the country you are we can put you in touch with your neareset Allergy Test UK tester.

  • 42. sam@allergytest.co.uk  |  April 3rd, 2010 at 3:15 pm

We test for over 50 environmental substances including house dust mite and pollens.

How much does it cost for the allergy test in Leeds or Nottingham?

  • 44. Alex  |  July 25th, 2010 at 3:47 pm

My name is Alex, I am a normal chap who lives in Hertfordshire and I have always suffered from a very sensitive digestive track and regular bowel movements but it had never bothered me a great deal until fairly recently. In winter of last year I began to notice a huge increase in diarrheoa symptoms and the development of intollerable pain in my lower abdominals both before and after visiting the Gentlemans` facilities. This could last for hours sometimes. The symptoms quickly became worse and worse, within weeks and became very detrimental to my quality of life. I was visiting the Mens` Room between four and eight times a day. Sometimes, I could not tell the difference btween these aches and genuinely needing to go. I developed a fear of eating and drinking. At my lowest point I was afraid to go out to many places. My comfort zone was greatley reduced. I had a fear of going anywhere if I thought I could not easily get to a toilet though fear of needing to go without warning as was so often the case. I was really self conscious and afraid be around people, even close friends and family because I was embarressed about what may happen. The only two places I could go and feel safe were my flat and work. The situation had clearly effected my mentality and anxiety levels. I even had a tendancy for panic attacks on occasions. I found it a challenge simply to open the front door. My confidence was absolutely shattered, I felt I had completely lost control of my life.

Off course I quickly went about looking for a solution. I read a lot on the internet about Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) which I believe I do have, which is a common digestive disorder. I did notice a correlation between what I was eating and the severity of symptoms, but changing my diet did not make a huge difference. I went to see a GP and had my blood tested for numerous things such as organ disfuction, Seliac Disease and an overactive Thyroid. All came back negative, nothing showed up. My Doctor suggested referal to a SpeciaIist but she did not believe there was anything wrong with me which again led me to believe it was all in my head…. but that couldn`t be true!!

I was just about at the end of my tether, I could not have endured anymore without serious help when I had a big result. The result was SueMcNeill at Allergy Test UK. A close friend of mine suggested allergy testing. I did not have a good understanding of being allergic or intollerent to something. My Doctor did not even mention this as a possibility!! I discovered her on the internet and went for a consultation and testing. After not more than an hour Sue had provided me with a result sheet indicating what foods and ingredients were causing the problems, what to avoid, and very useful information on substitutes, shopping guidelines tailored to my own individual needs and suppliments to help me with digestion, healing and anxiety. Naturally, I was in such a poor physical and mental state so I was nervous about how much this would help until I experienced the changes myself. All the food I had been eating regularly for years contained something I had been instructed to avoid. Examples would include wheat, whey, gluten, lactose, grapes and tea, all of which I am intollerent too. I had to clear out my whole kitchen cupboard and fridge and go shopping!

Within days of changing my diet I noticed my symptoms were going and within weeks I began to see light at the end of the tunnel. My body was expelling all the “nasties” it could not cope with and I was feeling a lot more comfortbale because I was feeding it correctly. The shopping and change was not difficult. Major super market chains such a Tesco and Sainsbury`s have specialist food ranges to cater for people such as myself. Any doubt…just check the label! I can still enjoy a varied nutritious diet. Learning what to eat and what not to was easy. I have been following the guidelines from Allergy Test UK for four months now and I have control of my life again. I dont think about my ordeal as much as I used too. The change came naturally. With just a little effort anybody could do it.

After a a visit to Allergy Test UK and a little councilling for anxiety I am back to my old self again. The root of my problems were certainly dietary. Nothing is perfect. It is not a miracle cure and with a sensitive body a little disapline is required but I am living proof that Allergy Test UK can change your life for the better. As an added bonus , I am eating a more healthy balanced diet and have lost two stones in weight and still have plenty of energy for the gym. I am in the best shape of my life and a lot of women have made very flattering comments! I have since sent two friends to Sue, one with skin problems and another with digestive issues similar to mine. Both are also very happy with the results. There is a great difference between doing something because you want to and doing something because you HAVE too. Just a little investment in your time and you too could change your life. Before Sue I was 2/10. Now I am 9/10. Be happy!

I have had stomach problems for years. I used to have alot of acid reflux and severe stomach cramps. I still get them but not as bad. Years ago I went to the doctors for a blood test and they said that I had high level of antibodys, I was a little to younge to ask what this ment. I continued to have stomach cramps, heart pulpitations, dizzy spells and shortness of breath. I also had hives that became so itchy they turned into open sores.
I realised that It became worse drinking alcahol and eating bread. So I have cut out them completely, I do feel better but recently I have began to come up in alot of hives again, nearly everyday and feels heart pulpitations and dizziness. I have had celiac test, it came back negative, although they said they could see that I was allegic to something, they sent me to have a prick test, they tested for pollen, dust, etc I already knew that this was not my allegy and as I thought it came back negative. I really want to be sent to a allegy clinic as I believe that its something like yeast, I would like to know why I am still getting hives even though I avoid alcahol and bread? could I of developed another allegy?
