Banish the Coughs & Colds
March 2nd, 2009
Lingering viral infections are common at this time of year, making us feel run down and lethargic. I have found that the combination of a good strong probiotic available from Biocare and Allergy Test UK, an antioxidant formula such as Higher Natures Super Antioxidants and some extra Zinc available from Allergy Test UK will boost the immune system allowing the body to heal itself.
To obtain vitamin supplements please call us on 01934 842923.

It sounds like you could have a dairy intolerence, if you let us know where abouts in the country you are we can put you in touch with your nearest Allergy Test UK tester. Alternatively go to our request a test page on the web site and we will send you details of your nearest tester that way. Thanks

hi,
I have had a very severe cold for since the beginning of April, took medicine, did not go away, then finally on the 1st of May took antibiotics and it finally seemsed to get better. And now I am taking vitamins for the immune system and protecting myself from cold, yet I have again a blocked nose and sore throat.
Could this all be an allergy? I don’t know what to try anymore.
I live in Chelsea but work in Puteny so if you could indicate where I could go for a test i would much appreciate it
Many thanks
Cristina

This sounds like a common complaint that we see in clinic when someone has had a long lingering cold often accompanied by a tickly cough that there resistance to allergens is lowered. It may well be dairy products but equally it could tree or rape pollen that are particularly prevalent at the moment.
We have a tester in Wimbledon and Chiswick. Please call Sue McNeill on 07507 862482 or email her sue@allergytest.co.uk and for further information please view Sue’s web site http://www.allergytestclinic.co.uk

I have a dry cough and tight chest nearly all the time , it started aroud 18 mounths ago and has not stopped . I never cough anything up and can’t blow my nose either. Can you please help

Nick,
It may be all sorts of things causing your cough, so without the benefit of testing you it is difficult to say. When you say you can’t blow your nose is that because it is permanantly blocked or because there is nothing to blow out?

Jen,
The nearest tester we have to you is in either Skipton, Rochdale or Nottingham. Which would you like contact details for? The cost of the test is £60.00 and will give you instant results on over 150 foods, 50 environmental substances and a full vitamin and mineral deficiency check.
It sounds very much like you have several food intolerences, I would expect cows milk products to come up and possibly yeast judging by your symptoms.
Take a good probiotic such as Biocare Acidophilus and a natural anti-hystamine complex such as Allex also by Biocare.

had recently herpes virus found in my blood. what I haveto do??? I’m in panic…

If it is herpes simplex ie the cold sore virus the L-Lysine by Solgar is excellant at keeping this virus at bay. You can also take vitamin A 50,000 IU per day, a vit B complex, vit C 1000mg’s 3 x per day and Zinc 50 mgs per day. A probiotic such as acidophilus is also recommended to prevent harmful micro-organisms in the gut.
All of the above also applies if genital herpes is the problem along with an anti-oxidant formula a high dose of essential fatty acids, garlic thym,us concentrate.
The most important of all of these is the L-Lysine!

My son and other relatives have found that FLONASE OVER THE COUNTER is a great relief for congestion of the nose and sinus.( READ UP ON IT AT KIWI DRUG) My son has used and still use it when necessary. I came across it on “kiwi drug” news and I thought that I would share it with everyone who needs long term relief to read up on it there. Surprisingly by checking it out you might end up saving yourself a trip to the Doctors and a few $100 and will help you with your seasonal cold.

Hi. Do you also test for pet/animal allergies?
17. sam@allergytest.co.uk | November 6th, 2009 at 12:12 pm
Dawn
We test for 50 environmental substances including cat, dog, horse, feathers and fur. If there is a specific animal you have that you wish to be tested for then take a snippet of their fur along with you to the test and we can test that for you.

Sam Thompson

We test for petrol and diesel as a matter of course. Anaesthetic could be done as well. Your nearest Allergy Test UK tester is in either Nottingham, North Wales or Bristol. Please let us know which you would like contact details for or refer to our testers page on the web site. Many thanks.
